INCOME TAX FILING DATE EXTENDED - SEPTEMBER 30, 2021 - ALERT - INCOME TAX PAYERS - LAST DATE FOR INCOME TAX FILING - ITR FILING

This year Financial year 2020-2021 had come to an end without any big announcements like every year.  But most of the things are normal as it was. Get ready to file Income Tax returns on time.  Income Tax department had also set a deadline for filing Income tax returns for the Assessment year  2021-22. 



Due to the CORONA pandemic disease, there has been long LOCKDOWN in almost all states in India. Government of India also keeping this in mind extended the ITR filing date from 31t July  extended to 30th September from 31st July.  The Government has extended the due date of filing Income Tax returns for Assessment Year 2021-22 (Financial Year 2020-21) for individuals by two months till September 30.

The Finance Ministry's Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) also extended the ITR filing deadline for companies by a month till November 30. The Government has extended the time limits for certain tax compliance due to Corona Pandemic disease spread and continuous lockdown  in the country. The deadline for taxpayers, like Corporates and others, whose accounts are required to be audited is extended from October 31 to November 30, 2021.



Earlier date for  filing TDS returns and SFT statements was due on May 31st 2021. This had been extended till June  30,  whereas corresponding due dates for issuance of TDS certificates is also extended by one month to July 15.

Other filing like belated and revised returns for all categories of taxpayers has been extended by one month from December 31, 2021 to January 31, 2022.
